The graduation of our first class was an emotional event at the school. Many of these students and their parents have stood strong through all the difficulties of starting a school. They kept the faith as each year the students made adequate yearly progress but had low achievement levels until as fourth graders they scored second highest in math to one regular district school and second highest in reading to another. At this point, I think the students realized what teachers and parents had known for some time, as a group they were no longer struggling students.
