The CRC and CRC Charter School is an equal opportunity employer of highly qualified staff. We look for team players who can commit to our mission. For teachers this means having a desire to learn and help other teachers learn how to be master teachers. Our commitment to teacher growth is only surpassed by our commitment to our children.

By our charter school contract, teacher employees of the PCSB are eligible for a "Professional Leave of Absence"from the school district for 4 years during which they can be employees of the CRC and work on their Masters Degree in Reading Instruction. During this time their Florida State Retirement and district health plans remains in effect and their return to a district position is guaranteed. Their other terms of employment are between the school and the teacher and not subject to the school district-union negotiated contract. The expectation is that the teacher will return to the school district after their leave of absence. |
Other teachers and staff can be under yearly, 4 yearly or continuous contract. Teachers get the same masters degree tuition benefit as the teachers from the PCSB but have no expectation or guarantee of a district job upon completion of their degree work. The health and retirement benefits are CRC defined and not part of the district program. |
As a lst -5th grade teacher must I work on a master degree during employment? Unless you already have a master's degree you are encouraged to work on a degree in reading instruction. Tuition is provide by CRC. When you begin actual course work depends your background and experience. Teachers in their first year at the school are discouraged from starting course work immediately to allow them to focus on gaining the practical experience we feel is essential to true mastery. |
Qualifications: Full-time regular classroom teachers including Kindergarten teachers must be Florida State Certified or eligible for certification. Specialty and part-time teachers must be highly qualified in their field and have aptitude or experience with teaching little children. Teacher assistants require certification. All staff must clear state mandated background checks for working with children. |
Salaries: Starting salaries are comparable to Putnam County School Board salaries. For teachers in the 4 year master degree program the salary is fixed at the starting level and raises should not be expected until the degree is obtained. The tuition benefit is paid as a reimbursement for one course per semester. Teachers are discouraged from taking more than one course in any one semester, but an extra or early course will be eventually reimbursed if the teacher remains with the school for the full 4 year program. |
